Josiah Wuthier grew up in Colorado in a Christian home and always labeled himself as a Christian. He never got into partying or anything like that, but still sinned and had things that he was ashamed of. He started skateboarding when he was 12 and skating quickly became a lifestyle for him. All he could think about at home and in school was skateboarding and it took priority over everything.

Skateboarding became the most important thing in Wuthier’s life and he sought to find happiness in that thing, but got depressed and felt a sense of meaninglessness. Even though he hid it from his friends and family, he was feeling meaningless inside.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God set eternity into the heart of man. Since Wuthier was not living for God, who is eternally good, he was unsatisfied. When he completely gave his life to God and got to know Him personally, he experienced freedom from sins that were holding him down, freedom from depression and a feeling of not being good enough and he found that Jesus satisfied him completely.

Wuthier did the 2013-2014 Calling All Skaters DTS in LA. He went because he knew he needed to surround himself with people that were on fire for Jesus.

“Dude and it was so sick! Over my DTS God freed me from being super shy, from a feeling of unworthiness, and helped me care less what people think,” Wuthier said.

The first three months of his DTS were in California and the next three were outreach in Southeast Asia. He came back to Calling All Skaters as a staff member and staffed LA THRASH, the Fall 2014 DTS in LA and went with the team back to Southeast Asia. Instead of coming back to California with the team after three months, he stayed there to continue ministry full-time and is helping a skateboard company out there.

In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus said “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field". The workers are few for skateboarders in Southeast Asia, but Wuthier is going to serve God over there and do what He calls him to do.
